Thanksgiving Heroes Episode Recap

Heroes Thanksgiving EpAt last one episode that I truly like this season and is a Holiday episode. The positive aspect of this episode was that in the narrative structure was more like season one episodes as the reason is it was divided into three stories that seemingly interact with each other… except with this case was with Thanksgiving.

In the first story we see a Petrelli Thanksgiving reunion in which nothing really happened except that it was the first time we see Sylar back in his own body and the omen of “Nathans” end. There was more of exploration of the Nathan/Sylar paradox which let me to think that the writers had the idea of using the Ultimate Gwen Stacy character in which two character are fused into one leaving one character with the characteristics of the other one and maybe in this case it will be a more compassionate Sylar who is going to have the stoicism of Nathan.

The second story was with the Bennetts, this so far was the least interesting story of all the three presented because it didn’t showed anything interesting except that Claire is going to explore the Sullivan Brothers Circus, which let me to think that the writers had to find an excuse to write off Madeline Zima character of the series.

The third story and in my opinion the most interesting one of the three revolved around the Sullivan Circus which at least was exposed who killed Joseph Sullivan than none other than Samuel in a fist of rage but to cover his crime he continued to lie to the other circus performers that their charismatic leader was killed by someone else. In a weird thought now the fourth season it’s started to gather strength in his narrative and the dynamics and it even gave the looks that the show can survive without becoming a clone of Charmed .

Brother’s Keeper Episode Review

Brothers Keeper ScreencapIf this show really last for a fifth season it’s going to suffer a lot without the CGI but maybe right now the show is suffering but not for the computer generated imagery but rather due the poor script to try to emulate the effects of season one

Season Four had been so far greater than season 3 but it has been chaotic and slow, maybe I am expecting a divided arc much like season three who was divided opposite to season one, maybe season four is more close to season 1 but still the show is going on a slow pace and since more characters are being written out of the show, Heroes it’s basically right now a melodrama between a small group of altruistic people versus an army of super powered individuals who hide as a circus; if we have to blame somebody we can blame on the second season or the writer strikes, but the real deal to blame are the writers who took the direction of the show into something that so far seems so boring and a little bit filled with plot holes around certain characters that not even the comic series can explain.

Brother’s Keeper wasn’t that bad it was more of an episode centering on the relation between the Petrelli brothers and how Sylar-Nathan regained the other part of himself creating an inner conflict that probably deleted the personality of the villain. That’s basically the main story of the episode; the side one was Hiro trying to save Mohinder much like he saved Charlie but with the purpose to retrieve a movie about Samuel past but there aren’t elements that gives to the viewers something more specifically about Samuel himself except that he was born in Coyote Mesa or his master plan. It’s so hard to predict the direction of the show because of the constant changes that are almost every week  and even so it’s difficult to know the evolution of the characters or if there is going to be new ones. I was trying to think about what positive changes the show could have and two I thought, the first one modify Sylar (or bring back Adrian Pasdar and revision Heroes cash cow Zachary Quinto) character to make it more humane and less corny and write off Mohinder Suresh for good… maybe tat could help but at the end I’m just talking to myself.

Belle of Day Scientist by Night

Dr. Brooke MagnantiShe is Dr. Brooke Magnanti a respected research scientist and a former prostitute who raised to fame after her blog where she told her stories as a former prostitute under the name Belle de Jour about her sexcapades while she was in college obtaining her PhD and in the process she gave a lesson to all digital age writers by selling her blog and memories to Rebecca de Souza to create the hit television show “Secret Diary of a Call Girl” and writing a few books in the process.

After many years of speculation Dr. Magnanti decided to put an end to the secrecy because she wasn’t having any fun after the British media started to speculate that Belle de Jour was a fictional character created by an hyperactive individual so Dr. Brooke putted and end and came to the public light telling her experience and saying that she is relief to not continue hiding her past from her family and friends. There are some similarities between Dr. Magnanti and her fictional self Hannah Baxter (portrayed by Billy Piper ) and not the obvious one that both are blonds as both characters had boyfriends who almost risked their existence and both are power players in the London scene (referring to the blog of “Belle” that don’t gives too many details sometimes). The question right now is if Dr. Magnanti will continue updating her blog or if she is going to shut it down and have a quiet life… maybe not.

Once Upon a Time In Texas - Episode Review

Once UponNo wonder that after the Writers Strike of 2008, one of the most promising shows on television started to suffer a slow decay on his ratings because the network started to save money in order to produce Heroes (a show that basically survives because of the CGI) and now after 3 seasons the show it’s starting to suffer the Charmed Effect by cutting the budget that once made the show amazing and also cast members now it was the time of Adrian Pasdar to say goodbye to the show and soon in my opinion Ali Larter and Sendhil Rammamurthy will have the same fate as Adrian Pasdar because their characters are already burned out, so at the end the show will consist of seven cast members which making an interesting story about the characters they play will be difficult.

I assume in order to improve more the rating and to bring some of the old audience back to the show, the producers decided to bring back Jayma Mays to portray one of the iconic characters of the show that gave a stoicism perspective to Hiro Nakamura about his future actions on saving people and now that Charlie is alive again, much of the previous arcs are mostly annulled because of this red herring. The episode was ok but it wasn’t great either, the show is taking a more slow approach and it’s becoming more boring gradually to the point that every episode less people are tuning up. I don’t know how the paradox of Saylar/Nathan is going to be resolved now that Adrian Pasdar is out and really how the writers are going to keep the show fresh with little resources. I don’t know and I don’t know if the show will last for a fifth season, it’s a miracle that there is a fourth season right now. Maybe the focus that NBC should take is to give more budget to the show that saved the network on prime time.

Heroes Episode Recap Tabula Rasa

ScreencapEven if today episode didn’t showed too much about anything I have to say I love it because it goes with the flow of the arc and even so far I guess what is going to be happening in the next episode.

The main topic of this episode was accepting your fate because there are something we can’t change from the past but we can make better the future; probably that’s something Hiro is going to be realizing on the next episode when he tries to save Charlie but Charlie saves him onto accepting his destiny and that the ultimate path for some of us is death, no matter how hard we try to avoid it.

The season so far has been running smoothly, the storyline don’t look hurry up and the ensemble is having more chemistry than the past few seasons; I have to say that the characters had evolved as well by showing a more mature point of view to their lives and well to their gifts, maybe now the show is exalting a more a realistic approach about people with specials abilities instead of following an extremely fantastic side of the comic books. One of the characters that has particularly evolved is Hiro as “he’s” no more the selfish individual of the first episodes but rather a more “stoic person” person toward his actions but without loosing the charming and innocent side that has always been present with the character.

Probably at last Sylar is heading into a more positive direction rather than the cartoon villain  that the character was becoming and I don’t think the producers are going to let go Zachary Quinto that easily by writing him off of the series after his popularity raised after the reboot of Star Trek; because the character itself looks regretted toward some of his past actions. I hope the producers and writers keep the good work for the next season and I really hope that all the episodes of this season are as good as the first ones.

The Wonderful Maladys In The Limbo

Sarah Michu GeruPoor Sarah Michelle Gellar, one of the best actresses of our generation and her career ended after Scooby Doo 2. At least somethings in her life aren’t that bad, her daughter Charlotte Prinze was born in September and basically that is the good news on the other hand her career has been on the professional purgatory for over a decade now and it seems that she can’t be detached from the role of Buffy Summers (Wow not even Kelsey Grammer is attached to Frasier and he played the character for ten years) as well her hubby Freddy Prinze Jr. who hasn’t acted in quite a while.

According to E! the pilot of Sarah new comeback The Wonderful Maladys is in the development purgatory and maybe it’s going to hell because the executives from HBO are having doubts about choosing her pilot for the 2010 lineup and probably is not going to be picked.

I imagined that the script was bad and maybe the acting was so so but poor Sarah Michelle Gellar you need to reinvent yourself or keep appearing in Robot Chicken.

A Kardashian Family Feud a Television Special

KardashianSo there problems in the Karadashian / Jenner paradise? It seems so. According to FOX411 it seems to be that any of the Kardashians can’t stand each other as soon the cameras of their reality show finish the rolling.

According to the entertainment section of FOX one of the main detonators of the family feud was Khris Kardashian meddling into her daughter Khloe wedding with L.A. Laker Lamar Odom because she wanted the wedding to be rushed as soon as possible so it was filmed for their reality (Oh! Khris, life is not a sitcom) but that was only the beginning then it came meddling into other more serious details as the one where Khloe wanted that her two best friends were her bridesmaid and not her sisters, something that mama Kardashian changed her daughter plans and put her two other daughters as the bridesmaids to keep the perfection image.

Ouch! but not only that, also other people that work inside the show say that Bruce’s son Brody has developed anger issues and he didn’t showed to the wedding of his step sister, but the sisters say that they try to stay away from Brody because after the fight of Brody’s Jenner with a common friend of the family Brody has been acting erratic and the sisters want to make their brother to see the truth about his girlfriend. Definitely is impossible to keep up with the Kardashians.

Hysterical Blindness – Heroes Episode Recap

Bryan FullerHysterical Blindness – Heroes Episode Recap

At least the show is returning to a more action oriented plot like the first season and not a different set of stories that didn’t had anything in common like Season 2 and part of Season 3 but so far Season 4 had been good by one simple reason Bryan Fuller is on the staff again… except he’s not going to be lasting for long because he’s going to leave the show after a couple of the fist episodes of Season 4 but Bryan has proven to be the key of the good stories of the show.

Hysterical Blindness was a decent episode but not one that reveals something juicy or extraordinary about the characters. There was more exploration about the characters background and what is going to be about them; the incursion of a deaf character is quite fascinating specially when the character pays an homage to Marvel super heroine Dazzler as both have sound based abilities.

The idea of exploring Claire’s sexuality I rather say it’s just a really low punch to attract more male viewers to the series because according to the Nielsen Ratings the show had been dropping scores in audience since the beginning of the season. Probably if the producers are going to explore more about the sexuality of a character at least they should take their time to set the story more properly instead of rushing the events (and not copying Buffy The Vampire Slayer where Willow has her girlfriend killed at the end of the season).

The score I give to this episode are 4.0 stars over 5; it was ok, it wasn’t average at least it was interesting because there was more insight about some of the main characters like Peter’s abilities, Angela’s motherly side, Sylar more gentle side and the Sullivan Bros ringleader Samuel Sullivan intentions regarding the unification of the post human society.

The Duggars: First Grandchildren - A New Generation Born

Duggar V.02

No doubt that Mackynzie Renee Duggar is truly an angel but the Government should really sponsor a vasectomy and a hysterectomy for the Duggars they keep multiplying like rabbits and soon Tontitown, Arkansas will be suffering the Founders Effect because of the Duggars.

Little Mackynzie was born at the beginning of the week and congratulation to her parents Anna and Joshua Duggar.

At Last Someone Said Something to Jon Gosselin and it was Nancy Grace

Nancy GraceAt last someone said something to fame whore Jon Gosselin and not throw more wood to the bonfire and that person was none other than Nancy Grace; yes it was Nancy Grace. In a serious debate about Jon’s parenting skills (America needs to focus on more serious issue on the media and not a single man father skills because there are worse individuals in the country that are nastier fathers than Jon Gosselin).

Jon tried to defend himself but Nancy said the real deal about Jon as a person and the image is giving to the public as a self absorbed individual who thinks about himself and not his children. Way to go Nancy and people stop throwing more fire to the Gosselins.
