Lady Gaga on Ellen (Videos)

Lady GagaBeyond her tranny on dope looks I have to say that Stefanni Germanotta or better known as Lady Gaga has a heart and she don’t seem to be self centered like many other celebrities that only like money, money and more money. Recently Lady Gaga was interviewed by Ellen where the spoke about many different topics and later she sang a song for her dad who had open heart surgery not so long. It’s interesting to see that this girl is a juxtaposition where she really has talent even if that her main music genre is electro-pop she can play piano and she can sing, which is a great value today because many musicians tend to go on tracks.

Lady Gaga seems to be more family oriented rather than anything else, she spoke about how much she misses her family when she goes on tour, her early Christmas memories and that she is really grateful with her fans for accepting her music. I have to say that I hope she continues that way for the rest of her career, being humble is a characterstic that she should treasure.

Interview With AndrecusB

Andrecus B

Recently I had the chance to interview Memphis Indie Musician Andrecus “Gentrax” Boyle or as he’s known also AndrecusB; the interview was made in English and translated because  the publication I collaborate with it’s basically in Spanish but here is the interview in English; and I hope you enjoy.

The topic of the interview it’s basically e-marketing and how indie musicians can take advantage of youtube and social sites as Myspace to promote their message and art.

Q:  What do you think about the power of internet and networking sites like YouTube and MySpace give to new artist the opportunity to promote their arts?

A:  I think sites like Youtube and MySpace are tremendous tools, especially for independent artists like me because they allow us to reach places that we ordinarily wouldn’t or couldn’t be seen or heard. They help us get that exposure to the regions where we physically can’t be. So there are great asset.

Q:  How were your formative years as a musician (artist)?

A:  Well it all began for me in church, as a 5yr old singing beside my mother in our church choir! That was the beginning, the foundation! I come from a family rich in music history. My father and his brothers and sisters, when they were young used to sing and tour throughout the southern region, so music’s a part of who I am. As a youngster I was always doing something musically from singing in church, to joining my brother and 3 cousins in a local singing group! We did gigs everywhere we could, from church concerts, to school functions to parties! My passion for musicianship really grew during the time I spent as a trumpet player in my middle and high school bands. Also taking piano lessons along the way I started respect and became intrigued with the production side of the music! I’ve just been involved in and been around so many great musicians locally that those many different experiences have helped shape the musician I am today!

Q:  What difficulties have you found in the way as an independent musicians?

A:  Well, It’s difficult for independent artists because major label artists get designated marketing dollars for radio play, music placements in films, television shows, and commercials. They also get album promotion and etc. We as independent artists aren’t afforded such luxuries, so it’s that much harder for us to get our product or our brand to the masses. Also, as an independent artist, you are in control of your Marketing, and Accounting. You play the role of Manager, PR person, and Booking agent. You do it yourself, because you have to…It’s difficult, but I enjoy the challenge!

Q:  How did you get started in the music business?

A:  Well, the game was kind of given to me early. During high school I began working with FL Studio. I took me awhile to get my sound up to par! I used to sneak in and just watch my big cousin as he would produce his tracks, soaking in everything. I learned a lot of the game from him. There was a period of about 5 years, from 2001 to 2006, where I was producing for everyone and featuring on songs with everyone. Although I knew I could sing and had been doing so all my life, I didn’t have the confidence in myself as an artist. So I would write and produce for other artists, hoping that somebody would blow and I would be on my way! Eventually, it boiled down to me acknowledging that I had to get out here and make it happen. I locked myself in my room and submerged myself with music. Writing, producing, and recording, hit music. This when I really started to take myself and my craft seriously! This is when it became my career. GENtrax Productions, the business was spawned.

Q:  What eStrategies (Virtual Strategies) do you use to promote your art?

A:  I try and have profiles on all social networking sites, music on all music sites, so fans can have access to my music. I make sure I establish a rapport with my fan base and build on the support of my fan base through video blogs and etc.

Q:  How do you finance your music?

A:  Honestly, I work a 9 to 5 job!  Right now the revenue from the music is now steady enough for me to rely solely on it. On the production side it comes and goes. Some weeks, months are better than others.

Q:  What are the styles and musicians that influenced your personal style?

A:  My style, artistically, is a mixture of many styles. From R&B, Neo Soul, and Hip Hop. I mean, I do it all. As far as influences go, the biggest musical influence on my music has been Timbaland! Dude is one of the best producer’s ever! But it’s bigger than that with him. He’s produced some great artists and hit songs. That’s me as a talking, but coming up Boyz II Men, Dru Hill, and Playa were huge influences. Now days I like multi-faceted artists like Keri Hilson, NeYo, PJ Morton, and Tank. People who vocally are gifted, but also work their magic behind the scenes. Writing, producing, and arranging vocals. They’re more than just one dimensional artists. I like to think of myself as I do them.

Q:  What advice can you give to young musicians today regarding the strategies they can use to develop their art and to promote it independently?

A:  I would encourage everyone to make sure your making quality music. Quality is better than quantity. There are millions of independent artists out there striving for the same goals as you are. What are you doing to stand out from the crowd?  You have resources out there! MySpace, YouTube, Reverbnation, just to name a few that can help get your music heard! Be true to yourself in your work. Be prepared to take risks! Someone once told me in order to get something you never had you have to do something you’ve never done. So be prepared to take some bumps and bruises. Be prepared to have set backs. There will be haters, but with discipline, a strong work ethic, and great music you can be successful!

Q:  How is the process of composing a song for you?

A:  Most cases, when I’m in a session by myself, it starts with a song concept. Usually an idea will pop in my head and then I’ll begin with a foundation for a beat, just enough to get the writing process flowing. Then as I write the song, I build the beat around the song. It’s a fairly simple process. This is normally how it works. When I’m collaborating with other artists it just depends on if they already have a concept and verses, then I listen to what they have and then that get my creative juices flowing! I enjoy writing music, and making music. The entire creative process is amazing!

Tarantino; Maybe Doing Kill Bill Vol.3

TarantinoDirector Quention Tarantino expressed the possibility on Italian television that maybe a second sequel to his hit movie Kill Bill is on the way; but Tarantino expressed some doubts that right now is too son to speak about any further development about the movie because he need to wait at least ten years to do another sequel, just to work on the script and to wait if Uma Thurman is ready to do no the next part; and even he went so far to say “that don’t believe my words because half of the things I say they never realize”.

In the meantime enjoy below the interview of Quentin.

Another Porn Spoof

ParisAs the soft core porn movies of the 70 who became popular in the mainstream like Caligula and Behind the Green the Door, in the 2000’s people like Paris Hilton have became popular for doing nothing and for their amateur porn videos and now following a trend in porn Miss Hilton is going to have her porn spoof really soon.

Paris probably is well known in the underground for her One Night In Paris xxx video (which is only something really dull, loveless and filled with more sucks than a baby to a bottle) Hustler decided to do a small spoof of Miss Hilton life by doing something that mixes between porn and comedy. The Porn-Comedy is going to be started by Eden Adams; the DVD is going to be filmed with a gonzo style following the example of E! True Hollywood Stories in which is going to be set by doing some interviews mixed with some spicy comedy sequences in which the Paris wannabe let her imagination to go wild in some imaginative lesbian scenes between the actress who will portray Nicole Richey and Kimbery Stewart.

Deglosing an Interview

Published by glequericac under Interviews Edit This

StarOne of the most difficult things as a journalist is the process of interviewing; at first look it can be simple “just ask questions that have relation to the person background” but the process of developing the questions can be extremely frustrating because they’re dumb and irrelevant questions and smart sharp questions; so everything has to be perfect in every single way. Interviewing is like doing a surgery, there is no frame to mistake because there is in play the journalist reputation as well the newspaper image. The process of making an interview regarding any topic can be quite complex but at the same time quite simple; as the first thing that is needed to be taken is the emotional intelligence of the individual, his background toward his formative years and interests or paths that molded him into his present persona; after following that mathematical formula then you can start shaping the questions, they can go to the most mundane even to the most philosophical concept. After writing the first draft then comes the anger, as most of the questions will look lame to your eyes and then it will be another thinking round just to decipher what can I ask to extract relevant information. As much you will think you will probably end with the first draft of questions, the same one you throw away first.

After finishing the draft, then you have to send it to your editor to edit what you wrote and focus the questionnaire to the newspaper interests; after the survey is edited and send it to the recipient; comes the most frustrating part of the process, trying to accept the choices you wrote down as they are going to be well accepted because you try to convince yourself you made a good job; but the most worrying moment is executed in the interview which can kill anyone nerves, as you have to look and act like a 10 because beside your intelligence at the moment of doing the questions you will be judged by your looks as they will play an important part of the interaction with the sources, you can’t look pompous, you need to look elegant and friendly as not many people like the idea of being interview. So how a balance can be created to handle like a juggler three facts? fluidity, personal image and demeanor’s. Is been a while since I interviewed someone, I don’t think I’m rusty but I think I will need serenity at the moment of true, because I will be extremely happy.

An Interview with P.J. Rios

P.J. Rios a Voice with Passion a Voice with Soul

By: Gustavo Lequerica

P.J. Rios is a New York musician, which probably you have heard in the past before in the hit cartoon show Pokémon as the singer of the third season of Pokémon theme Johto Journeys, one of the most popular songs of the entire series due P.J.’s melodic and jazzy voice, made the third season song one of the favorites between fans; but P.J. has evolved more beyond the days in Pokémon and even beside the Pokémon experience P.J. is an accomplished musician who writes melodic poetry based in his life experiences and he sings jazz, R&B, pop and other rhythms,  also P.J. can play piano and other instruments as well, and as a bonus he is also an accomplished theater actor, thus making P.J,. a polifacetic entertainer.

But not only P.J. is a musician, most of his family are musicians, his father plays in a band, his niece Nicole is a musician as well in a Jazz band, so is practically a family business; recently we had the opportunity to interview P.J. where he spoke to us about how he started, his favorite genres and about his recent collaboration with Elliot Willensky.

1) When do you start to sing?
I started singing around 4 or 5 years of age.
2)Who are your favorite artists? And genres?
I have a few favorite genres, but mostly pop Dance and Jazz. Some of my favorite singers/artists have been Take 6, Billy Ocean, James Ingram, Mariah Carey/Whitney Houston.
3) Do you write your own songs?
Yes I write my own songs, and also sing other people’s songs. My own life experiences and the lives of my family/friends inspire a lot of the songs.

4 )Who did encouraged you to follow an artistic path?
My piano teacher when I was little, also my parents and brother encouraged me a lot.

5) Have you done theater?
I’ve done theater in the past, but don’t enjoy acting as much as singing original songs. It was fun, but just not exactly what I wanted.

6)  How was the Johto experience?
Johto was a lot of fun. I have a very child-like personality, so I’m always joking around, and there were a few others that were the same. We had a good time, and made a great team.

7)      What can you tell us, about the song You’re Missing? And the song video? Did you could work with families that have lost a special one in war?
That song was written by Elliot Willensky, and the video was filmed in NYC. It was a freezing cold day out on the street, but it was a lot of fun. It was great working with Bravo studios, and the make-up artist. The song was inspired by the families that have lost loved ones in the war, and how their lives have been affected afterward. I have met some of the families that have lost people in the war, and many of them felt like the song helped them with their grief and their path to healing.

Youtubers: Lillemy1

Youtubers: Lillemy1

Hilde or Lillemy1 as she is known in youtube is a young Norwegian singer with a sweet but yet powerful, the piece of information you probably won’t know is that Lillemy1 is a self-though singer and songwriter, as many people in youtube I discovered when I was searching for the song May it Be, from Enya and I got hooked instantly, Hilde’s cover is truly beautiful and from that song I started to hear other and the other until I heard every single song of the 29 Hilde’s song.

But it was recently when I got in contact with this talented singer until she upload her version of Ave Maria, which I think is truly beautiful; recently I got the chance to speak with this talented artist who is also competing in the internet competition of Total Pop Star, if you want to vote for Hilde you can click on the link it was mentioned before and it will redirect you to Hilde’s link, if you want to help Hilde’s gain a record deal, vote for her, you can vote as many times you want.

8 QUICK QUESTIONS TO LILLEMY1:

Gus Lequerica: When was the first time you know you wanted to sing?.

Lillemy1: I loved to sing already since I was a child. I sang every day, though not for anybody, but because I loved music and singing.
G.L.: What are your favorite genres? And favorite musicians?

L: I have no favorite genre I guess. I like all genres, and I also love to sing all genres. I never give up on a song I want to sing.
G.L: What is your favorite song?

L: My favorite’s song? That was not easy to answer. I got many favorites. Ave Maria, Motherless child, Angel (Sarah McLachlan) are some of them.
G.L:  Who or what influenced you to become a singer?

L: When I was a little girl I listened to Boney M and Abba. So I guess they were my inspirations to become singer. Youtube and my friends on YouTube inspire me the most today.
G.L:  Of one of your songs that you composed, what is the most meaningful to you?

L: “You made it easy to love you” is my original that is most meaningful to me!
G.L: Who are your favorite Youtube musicians?

L: I got several favorites YouTube musicians. Here are some of them: (YouTube names) DsmB2007 , Airto, Lisalavie1, Gordieiati, kellydoll14, and many more.

G.L: What do you think about YouTube?, and the process it gives to young artist to expose their products?.

L: I think YouTube is a great place for unknown artists to show their talents. YouTube is a great community!
G.L: Besides singing, what are your other passions?

H: My other passions are fishing; nature, decoration painting, movies, and don’t tell anyone I love to play bingo! Lol

We can wish the best to Lilemy1, as she has a bright future above her; and if you want to hear more from her you can click here, and for last here are a few samples of LiLemy1.

Youtubers: Eline a.k.a. justmii2u’s

This young talented youtuber known as justmii2u (or Eline) is one of the most fascinating singers of that webpage, is true that her passion is sing, because if you hear some of her videos, you will feel the joy justmii2u feels when she performs.

Her primordial musical genre is Pop, but clearly she moves between other genres as Ballads and some light rock as well; she has a great cover of Enya song You Raise Me up, as many youtube artist Eline also sang a few duets with other fellow musician such as Ben Sharkey, both make a cool rendition of Nancy and Frank Sinatra song Something Stupid, probably the most interesting thing of the video is that Ben is in Michigan and Eline is in the Netherlands, but the quality of the sound sounds like if both performers where on the same studio.

Recently I got the chance to interview justmii2u, and we learn a few quick interesting details about this talented performer, such as her favorite songs and when she started to sing.

When did I start to sing?
I don’t remember when I actually STARTED singing but I do know I’ve been singing for a long time.. I started to take singing lessons when I was 13.

Who is your favorite artist? And favorite band?
My favorite artists are: Josh Groban, Il Divo, and Celine Dion.

What is your favorite music genre?
I like a lot of music genres but I think my favorite is pop classical crossover.

What is your favorite song? And why?
My favorite song… Hard one… I think that must be ‘You raise me up’. It just never gets boring… How often I listen to it.
Who is your favorite YouTube singer?

Favorite YouTube singer: Waaah too many to name.. Can I name 4? Passionsf, Bensharkey, Frannobaz and Popsensation87 (Zak Resnick)

Do you write your own music?
Do I write my own music: I kinda do.. Northern star.. on youtube.. I wrote the lyrics.. I wanna know.. on youtube.. I wrote the lyrics for the bridge.. Go to www.myspace.com/ElineNeelis if u wanna hear the original songs.. They’re also on youtube but on myspace you have all 4 of them together..

What do you think about YouTube, and the process it gives to young artist to expose their products?
I think YouTube is great for people that want to expose their talent, stuff etc.. I’m not sure if it’s that effective in the end.. (Sure.. for some people)
