US$1.000.000 in Antique Roadshow!

Published by glequericac under Actuality! Edit This

QuianlongI always find Antique Roadshow one of the few interesting shows in television, one motive is because antique appraisal is given in an easy way to knowledge of the common folk but also at the same time I find some morbidity in the show as people go to satisfy their greed only to be dismissed by the judges really quickly (it’s like American Idol, only less sadistic); but there are rare moments in the show where people expose amazing collectibles like an old Navajo blanket, appraised in US$350.000; a Clyfford Still oil painting valued in half million dollars exposed early in 2009 and now there is one of the first mayor records in the show, the first item that reached a million dollar, an old Chien Lung tea set was given this honor in a conservative appraisal but it’’s something amazing because it’s going to be on television on the next show! and people from all over the United States as well the Internet because sure people are eager to see the highly valued item.

Maybe M.J. Died from a Drug Overdose

Published by glequericac under celebrities Edit This

Michael Jackson before Turning more WhiteI rarely cite other pages, but according to TMZ.com maybe the death of Michael Jackson involved some drug mix that caused his fatal heart attack. It’s interesting if Lisa Marie was right and if she wasn’t laying, then Michael Jackson fulfilled his self-fulfilling prophecy when he told Lisa Marie that he was going to die like her father. What a shame, sure he was eccentric but he was the greatest entertainer from the 20th century.

So Zachary Quinto is Gay?

Zachary Quinto and Boyfriend?I never write sensationalist topics like this one because I truly believe in maintaining my journalistic oath but I can’t stand how Mario Lavandeira aka Perez Hilton, Internet ultimate biggest joke tend to abuse the personal lives of people by trying to out them and selling their sexuality as story, but the biggest thing that I can’t stand from that man is how hypocrite it’s by saying he is doing a favor by outing celebrities and he is doing right, he is not doing right and he can’t even call himself a journalist because he isn’t (remember the incident where he used the fa**t word with Will.I.am, he insulted the community and he wants respect, he needs to search respect himself first). I don’t care if Zachary Quinto is gay, straight or bi, he is a talented man and a nice fellow in real life who don’t act as a pretentious individual because he is famous.

Sure, analyzing the kinetic of this photo I can say that there is some physical attraction and that Zachary it’s kind of shy toward walking in public while his friend is more outgoing toward walking in public, but hey, it’s only one single photo and even if a photo can said a 1000 words it can’t say a veridical truth that only the individual can say, I know having a public life it’s difficult but that it’s a price of stardom, your life becomes public and the only way to handle it is with grace and poise never letting the sensationalist press like Perez to hunt you down from how you are. Whenever Zachary is ready or if he wants to maintain his life in private he will always have the support of his family, his friends and the people who admire him.

THE C.L.U.D.: THE WAR WITHIN Chapter One

Published by glequericac under Main Edit This

Chapter One

They hatched from beneath, the first case was reported in a small town in Florida called Odessa near the year 2000; people said that the infected had his skin hard as diamond, he was suffering from a necrotic decomposition but he was healthy and lucid; about two weeks after he got infected he started to lose his mind slowly, his jaws and teeth started to grow, his jaw was really wide like a shark’s jaw and his teeth became small fangs; he couldn’t spoke anymore because the physiognomy of his jawbone was going down; his eyes were also retracting up to point he only had a small line that took the place of his eyes and became blind as mole.

After a month of the infection he became more animalistic, slowly but steady his senses went more primeval and the traces he had of humanity disappeared almost completely; he was turning into one of them, he was turning into one of the “puppets” he was going to be the first. 7 weeks later, all the State of Florida was declared in a pandemic, people were fleeing and the ones that were left behind weren’t so lucky at all because they were infected as well by the other “puppets”. Two months later the plague of the “puppets” spread to the North of the Americas, it was madness and President W. Bush declared state of emergency.

In less than a year, the Americas were a wasteland, most of the people fled and only a few were left behind. The “puppet” virus was contained, it was only mainland and it didn’t went to the marine species but the virus traveled really quickly thanks to the migratory species and to passive carriers who went to one country and to another before the “puppet” virus took effect over their bodies. Two years later the world was almost devastated, a few zones in the Balkans remained untouched as well as most of the Tibet and the Pyrenees because of the difficult terrains.

The world was in chaos, the principal cities in the world were destroyed from head to toes. The Chrysler Building collapsed and it was a nest for the “puppets”, people who tried to destroy the nests where killed by the guardians of the outside, the guardians where people and animals who had less humanity than the other “puppets” true beasts in the exact sense of the English language because some “puppets” hunted to store food the guardians hunted to kill anything in their sight.

Jonathan and Elizabeth Duncan was one of the last survivors in Florida, they were hiding in the ruins of the Tampa International Airport but they were found by some hounds that were roaming in the area and they were killed inside the parking lot without mercy; their son barely escaped, his name was Danilo Duncan he told that they were surrounded by the hounds in the north parking lot, their parents locked him in a small restaurant near the gate of American Airlines and instructed him to seek for a path in the communication tower and call for help but he couldn’t reach the place so he went out and he went near the landing runaway only to see his parents being ate by the hounds, he commented he almost screamed but he escape from the landing runaway to the economy parking where he was eventually found in the top floor.

Danilo commented that he saw some intelligent behavior in the hounds, it challenged everything believed where supposedly they killed their preys in a stampede but Danilo said they rounded their parents much like a wolf pack and they killed them in that way; he thought there was a nest because hounds are only near nest but it seemed their behavior was more different and more unpredictable, more primeval but intelligent enough to gather food.

Near the county line of Hillsborough, Florida; in Lakeland there was a small group of survivors in the Lakeland General Hospital; there was Danilo being interrogate by some men of the military who were trying to research how to reverse the “puppet” plague and stop the outbreak; but the only information they could get from Danilo was some pattern of the pack behavior of the hounds. One hour later after Danilo was rescued a horde of “puppets” attacked the hospital, only a few escaped including Danilo. That was the last military base located in the South of the United States after the year 2003.

Captain Eo - Remembering Michael Jackson

Captain EoNot many people can said that they had such an influence in their lifetimes in many different fields, but surely Michael Joseph Jackson was one of the few ones that he influenced even on the developing of theme parks, beyond his Neverland Ranch, M.J. had a ride in Epcot Center “Captain EO ” during the eighties and part of the nineties. Not many young people remember this ride it’s impossible because much of the actual generation wasn’t even born or where very little to remember this wonderful 3D movie, but if you were born after 1980 you probably can remember much of this ride.

Michael played the role of Captain EO and Anjelica Huston played the Supreme Leader, the baddie of the film. The film had a simple premise to change the world through music; the ride was quite lovely but it was replaced by Honey I Shrunk the Kids which it is less spectacular than Captain EO and many people feel disappointing toward the new ride who has been operating since 1994 and it seems that it will be there for quite a while, even if not many people remember that movie, but with the dawn of M.J. death maybe Disney should put a pavilion or a small exhibition in remembrance of this amazing ride.

Obama Sends Condolences to the Jackson’s

ObamaIn the dawn of the death of Michael Jackson, Presiden Barack Obama sent his condolences to Michael Jackson family. In a press conference, White House Press secretary Robert Gibbs said “ Look, he said to me that obviously Michael Jackson was a spectacular performer, a music icon. I think everybody remembers hearing his songs, watching him moonwalk on television during Motown’s 25th anniversary. But the president also said, you know, look, he had aspects of his life [that] were sad and tragic.” Then Press Secretary added “condolences went out to the Jackson family and to fans that mourn his loss.”

What About These Comics Books? X-Men Utopia

Published by glequericac under Comic Analisis Edit This

Utopia #1Dark X-Men Crossover Dark Avengers - Utopia: Amazing intro to what is going to become the new group of X-Men, Matt Fraction did an amazing work with the narrative  as well Marc Silvestri did an awesome job with the art. Chapter One goes with the fall of the X-Men as they can’t handle a group of human rights protesters and slowly they go into a downfall that Norman Osborn aka the Iron Patriot takes advance to form a new personal hit squadron with the X-Men mantle. According to Wikipedia the new team will be composed of Daken, Emma Frost, Professor X, Cloak and Dagger, Mimic and Namor but there is a mystery surrounding the team, *spoiler* in this issue it was shown Professor X endorsing Norman’s actions about conforming a new X-Men team under his tutelage but at the end of the issue, Beast is shown in some kind of jail and Professor X is there almost in a catatonic state saying to Henry that they are taken their powers. I guess we have to wait what is going to happen in the six part crossover of Dark X-Men, but one thing that I can bet is that the X-Men after a brief stint in San Francisco they are going to leave the city for a new one.

Uncanny X-Men # 512 Vol# 1Uncanny X-Men #512 Vol. 1: In my opinion this issue was only a filler of what is going to happen next month but still was cool to see the work of Yanick Paquette and Karl Story in the art; this as Utopia was written by Matt Fraction but even if it was writen by Fraction it was a little bit boring because it didn’t give anything to the story, maybe the only new thing it gave was the exploration of Dr Nemesis background as he fulfilled a grandfather paradox by helping his mother to deliver himself when he was born. There was a side story that explains that the first Sentinel wasn’t invented by Bolivar Trask but rather by the Hellfire Club in the 1900’s by using a power cell made by Dr. Nemesis father.

Messiah War Chapter 7Messiah War - Epilogue: One word, terrible ending and in someway it was predictable that it was going to happen; I was hoping that Hope was going to return to the present and not everything was going to reboot, completly disappointing.

Eulogy to the Icons, Eulogy to the Stars

Published by glequericac under Actor Review Edit This

FarrahSomeone said “that only way someone can know how he or she was loved in life it will be only in death because that will be the only moment when everyone will be speaking good things about you” I guess he was right I haven’t seen someone speak anything bad when someone day, but today was a sad day because the world lost two of his most famous children Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson, it’s difficult to think that they aren’t with us anymore, but as many public figures their work is going to last forever and they are going to be remember because of what they gave to humanity.

We lost two different individuals, the Michael Jackson The King of Pop and a small TexMJan girl Farrah Fawcett who now is an Angel, both changed the world in their own way, both created an impact in the pop culture and they are in the minds of millions of people around the world, both are and were icon of the modern era of the pop culture. It’s impossible to think the century without Farrah and Michael; Michael changed the world of music by revolutionized the concept of beats and dance, he did more than that, that’s for sure, he changed music entertainment for ever and Farrah redefined the way of beauty, acting and helped to create more awareness of cancer by her documentary that was released earlier in 2009. Both of them changed the world in their own way, they had amazing lives that only mere mortals could dream off, but at the same time they were mortals almost demigods among men, but death don’t give a truce to any one and even the gods among men sooner or later will face the same destiny as everyone, a destiny that is impossible to escape; you guys will be remembered for ever and this is not a goodbye it’s just a see you soon.

A Fabricated Reality - The Image of Shows like John and Kate; and The Hills

Published by glequericac under Reality TV Edit This

JkThe first thing that comes to mind it’s “how real is a reality?”and my answer comes right away “little to reality” but when a reality involves children in the way like the dubious Jon and Kate and the boring version 18 and counting, the only question that comes to my mind “why the parents expose their children to national attention like if they were freaks?” my only answer to that question it’s “pure and simple exploitation to get more money”, I been wondering what the kids of Jon and Kate can think about their sudden rise to the spotlight; I find many answers but not any of them satisfactory because I can’t see anything good for those children development into healthy adults but I hope I am wrong and I hope they learn how to distance themselves from the chaotic circus they grown. I can’t see Jon and Kate as model parents, sure they are greedy to let their children appear on T.V. (this makes me thinks about the Dion quintuplets) but at some extent I don’t blame them because is not cheap to raise a child in the U.S. but still it’s not difficult to see the parallelism between the sextuplets and the quintuplets, both sets of babies grew up in the spotlight and the consequences hasn’t been the best in both cases.

Realities, fabricate their own images, they fabricate what the public wants to see; in much simpler words “they lie to gain money, simple as that” another good example is The Hills, or as I like to call it “Melrose Place with less sexy and more alcoholic people” it’s fake as it can be, but people bought the premise of the show and they bought the “idiosyncrasy” of Heidi Montag and her hubby Spencer Pratt Montag even if they don’t have any talent at all beside looking pretty all day long and say non-sensical things that the public are eager to listen. So at the end realities show a mix of everything and perfection but they don’t look what reality really is a complex place where people ain’t pretty or thin and problems aren’t solve at the end of each episode.
