The Decline of SNL
So is not a big secret that SNL is loosing popularity after 30 years in the air, the players are not as powerful as the last 20 years and is relying more on the university humor again rather than focusing on political and actual issues (thanks Seth Meyers for the crappy content) and celebrities and ex-players cameos just to improve the rating a little bit. With today’s episode I can see why SNL is going down, well… not only with this episode of the season but the one from the last Saturday who Chris Pine, Leonard Nimoy and Zachary Quinto appeared (of what I guess was only to promote Star Trek, but I don’t complain that cameo was the best thing of the entire episode) and today with WIll Ferrel hosting, we got a bombardment of former cast members going from Maya Rudolph to Amy Poehler (Please Amy come back, you are not Tina Fey but you are much funnier than Seth Meyers) and even Norm McDonald (weird I thought we was banned) but is so interesting to see how the show is relying on the weight of his guests rather than the script itself, is really sad that an institution like SNL is going to flush really quickly and in the last sketch all the guests are singing out of tune and people seem to like it… wait, there was Tom Hanks also doing himself in Celebrity Jeopardy… not funny.
