I’m not a big fan of folk music of any kind, although I make some exceptions to some songs that I find meaningful as they reflect some extent of the history of a group of people or a city; this song, Callecitas de Cartagena, or as it’s translated Little Streets from Cartagena is one of the most emblematic songs of the Colombian culture as it’s reflects the beauty and history of a city that has been standing for 476 years (almost as old as the continent itself). The city is really beautiful besides all the social problems and incidents produced by past administrations; there is a charm, a romantic charm that can be seen behind every single wall of the Old City and a spirit of romanticism and joy in the smile of every Cartagenero. Some people speak bad about the city, but those people don’t know about the hidden beauty that is laying almost dormant in the heart of Cartagena, a beauty that amazed artists and writers; a beauty that made almost any people dream about the past and what is going to come; a beauty that made me dream tons of times while I stood in silence watching the endless sunsets in the balcony of my maternal grandparents home or in a walk to the Downtown and thought about the history and if people 300 years ago were bedazzled by the magic of the stone corral that is located on the South Caribbean.

Miss Marvel #39 Vol#2:Brian Reed and Sana Takeda where the answers to improve this comic book title a little better; because it was getting boring with Carol Danvers on the lead and there wasn’t any improvements to make the character grow beyond the super heroine persona and now with Miss Marvel being taken on a more antihero approach the title was revitalized as Moonstone makes a cool leading lady
The story for number 39 wasn’t interesting, it was a mere follow up of #38 who A.I.M. is developing Moddocks to win control over the monopoly Norman Osborne is creating and a new character which presumably was Carol Danvers in her Binary persona (because both exhibited similar powers) where introduced between issue 38 and 39. Right now the title is aiming at a new levels as the writing is more complex and is being aimed to adults instead of children and maybe we can expect more about this new approach on Miss Marvel.
PS: Long Live Miss Marvel, Carol Danvers is Dead.
X-Force #15 Vol#3 (Messiah War Chapter Five): Chapter Five of the Messiah War Arc was another filler episode where the only interesting thing came at the end when Apocalypse regained his strengths, hinting that we will make a full return as a villain or maybe it will end as many other time events in the limbo because it will lack of canon. Maybe the action will be on issue six and seven where we can see a little more how the future is going to be with the new Mutant Messiah.

Shame on California, the supposedly second most progressive State after New York proved to be only a faker as the silicon most woman have in their breast; today we saw that we still to learn to much in terms of progress and equality, is a shame that some of my friends and family members can’t enjoy the same benefits of the marriage couples because they are part of the LGTB community; is a shame that we are walking backwards and instead of following examples of England and The Netherlands we are going backwards and is such a shame that we speak about equality and we can’t see it, is hypocrisy because everyone should be treated equally under the constitution and we are equal under the eyes of God; those words that everyone have the same rights are just empty, what a terrible day as is not fair that two people who love each other can’t get married over two people who hate each other, there should be EQUALITY FOR ALL, ONCE AND FOR ALL!

What you can do when you screw things up in a big time? Simple, just have a good sense of humor and that’s exactly what Mel Gibson is doing. So OK who really admire Mel?, I never admired him, he is a human with so many flaws and people are blind to put him in a pedestal because he made The Passion, yeah, great movie with tons of biased point of views that was extremely offensive to anyone who analyzed thee sub context; that movie didn’t represent the history of Catholicism, it represented the P.O.V of Mr. Gibson, but we are not going to discuss his masterpiece. So, if you watched Jay last night Mel candid joked about that he is going to be a dad for the 8 time and he even say that he is Octo-Mel, lol! 9 if you count his girlfriend other child. I didn’t found his appearance funny, it was lame and what happened to the guy who once defended his marriage and called his wife a saint?, well the guy lost his way and yes, his wife she is a saint for tolerating all of Mel’s antics, I really admire that woman to be married to a man like Mel Gibson; and now Mel lost a lost credibility with his mistress sorry girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva because part of Mel’s image and solidity as an actor was that families could relate to him as a family man, now he is just another Hollywood individual who ruined his marriage because of his behavior. and certainly ruined part of his image as an acto. Octo Mel is such a role model.

A Rising Superstar: Susan Boyle
By: Gustavo Lequerica-Calvo
Sure she failed at the beginning or her marvelous rendition of Cats song “Memories” she is the biggest sensation in singing of 2009 and she has to known that at least 300.000.000 people are going to be watching her performers worldwide and is something that can be overwhelming but she developed her act in an excellent way and the song ended amazing. Some people like Perez Hilton are critiquing Susan Boyle like she didn’t did a magical presentation like the first time, but the truth was she did it perfectly and she captured the essence of the song. Memories is a difficult song, is not easy to sing and is not as beat as I dreamed a dream, is a melancholic song, a beautiful song that show how sad was Jezzabella because she knew her end was near. Since the beginning of this series I imagined Susan singing this song, I thought it was a perfect choice for her and it wasn’t perfect, it was amazing; I can’t wait for the finals, she has to sing a duet with Elaine Paige, if she does it, is going to be magical. In the meantime, enjoy her presentation in the YouTube screen on the left.

One of the most difficult things as a journalist is the process of interviewing; at first look it can be simple “just ask questions that have relation to the person background” but the process of developing the questions can be extremely frustrating because they’re dumb and irrelevant questions and smart sharp questions; so everything has to be perfect in every single way. Interviewing is like doing a surgery, there is no frame to mistake because there is in play the journalist reputation as well the newspaper image. The process of making an interview regarding any topic can be quite complex but at the same time quite simple; as the first thing that is needed to be taken is the emotional intelligence of the individual, his background toward his formative years and interests or paths that molded him into his present persona; after following that mathematical formula then you can start shaping the questions, they can go to the most mundane even to the most philosophical concept. After writing the first draft then comes the anger, as most of the questions will look lame to your eyes and then it will be another thinking round just to decipher what can I ask to extract relevant information. As much you will think you will probably end with the first draft of questions, the same one you throw away first.
After finishing the draft, then you have to send it to your editor to edit what you wrote and focus the questionnaire to the newspaper interests; after the survey is edited and send it to the recipient; comes the most frustrating part of the process, trying to accept the choices you wrote down as they are going to be well accepted because you try to convince yourself you made a good job; but the most worrying moment is executed in the interview which can kill anyone nerves, as you have to look and act like a 10 because beside your intelligence at the moment of doing the questions you will be judged by your looks as they will play an important part of the interaction with the sources, you can’t look pompous, you need to look elegant and friendly as not many people like the idea of being interview. So how a balance can be created to handle like a juggler three facts? fluidity, personal image and demeanor’s. Is been a while since I interviewed someone, I don’t think I’m rusty but I think I will need serenity at the moment of true, because I will be extremely happy.

Not so inspiring band Coldplay has been sued for plagiarism because of their hit song Viva La Vida resembles some other famous songs that came before Viva La Vida and now front man Chris Martin has stated that this situation has made him to become a better artist (really? a better artist? I don’t believe it). Guitarist Joe Satriani claims his song If I could fly was ripped, and yes the chorus sounds similar but also Cat Stevens says the same thing.
“Some people are suing us at the moment and although it was initially a bit depressing, now it’s become really inspiring,” he said in an interview for Coldplay’s official website, Coldplay.com.
He added: “You think, ‘Right, if everyone’s trying to take away our best song, then we’d better write 25 better ones’. And so just at the point where I was thinking about getting fat and becoming complacent, I’ve been finding more inspiration. Now we’ve got more to prove than ever before.” I smell more lawsuits on the way.

There is comic book death where no character remains completly death except for Gwen Stacy, Uncle Ben and Zor-El, the rest of characters can come back to lie anytime they want and there is Jean Grey a comic book character who refuses to stay death and has died many times that are impossible to track them. With the Jean Grey complex we can speak about comic book characters that are as near omnipotent as God, because they can achieve the impossible and in my opinion they lose value as characters. This issue gives the information that the Sisterhood of Mutants is more powerful than the X-Men thought and at the end they got their buttocks kicked by a bunch of the most powerful female mutants in the Marvel Universe but how things work in the Marvel Universe at the end the X-Men will win (I hope everything don’t be screwed with the launching of the Dark X-Men because Emma is in that team and it will be ridicule to see Jean back again with Scott). We have to see what is going to happen in X-Men #511.
PS: Has anybody see some subtle fetishistic elements on the cover?!

Not as good as other Sonic games but equally charming because it sets Sonic on a Arabian Knight environment as well other children tales. The game itself is really interesting as it departs from the main franchise because it’s set on a different time line and it explores different characters dynamics as much of the bad guys (or better say Eggman) is now one of the good guys and other good guys play different roles in the game, roles based on the Arabian Nights such Tails being Ali Baba or Knuckles being Sinbad. The graphics are really cool, and the soundtrack as many other Sonic games is really nice, a mix between rock and roll and speed. The gameplay in theory is cool, but when I say in theory is because the controls are a nightmare, probably the worst controls in a game, not even E.T. or Silver Surfer have controls this bad, when you are playing sometimes the control don’t react the way you expect because you have to handle the remote control in a different fashion as it were a classic controller (play this game with a Wii classic control is more easy) the replay value probably is more based on the desire of achieving a better score rather than the fact of playing the game because is good. The overall score I give to this game is 7 over 10, sure is original but at the same time because of the lack of development it can be annoying. If you want to buy the game I recommend it because the last it was only on 20.00 Dollars.

So is not a big secret that SNL is loosing popularity after 30 years in the air, the players are not as powerful as the last 20 years and is relying more on the university humor again rather than focusing on political and actual issues (thanks Seth Meyers for the crappy content) and celebrities and ex-players cameos just to improve the rating a little bit. With today’s episode I can see why SNL is going down, well… not only with this episode of the season but the one from the last Saturday who Chris Pine, Leonard Nimoy and Zachary Quinto appeared (of what I guess was only to promote Star Trek, but I don’t complain that cameo was the best thing of the entire episode) and today with WIll Ferrel hosting, we got a bombardment of former cast members going from Maya Rudolph to Amy Poehler (Please Amy come back, you are not Tina Fey but you are much funnier than Seth Meyers) and even Norm McDonald (weird I thought we was banned) but is so interesting to see how the show is relying on the weight of his guests rather than the script itself, is really sad that an institution like SNL is going to flush really quickly and in the last sketch all the guests are singing out of tune and people seem to like it… wait, there was Tom Hanks also doing himself in Celebrity Jeopardy… not funny.

If you want to ruin a song, and let your kid listening to something dull then you are fit to buy them Kidz Bop, the most dullest commercial thing ever that tries to be political correct but at the end it fails big time because it has ruined every good song on the market; just try to imagine I’m Yours by Jason Mraz, it sucks and it sucks, and why all of these butchering? simple, to get some money. The worst is that they take the good parts of the songs the ones that speaks about sex, depression and loneliness, technically the take out the artistic aspect just because is not political correct to put children in these situations - Hey! Dumba** producers children are smarts and they don’t live in a bubble, eventually they will have to pass by all of these situations as any other human being; and how the hell is adding a rapper?, that is a cliche!. Parents, believe me, children are smart and they will love good music not this crap that eventurally they will throw away as soon they get older, if you really value your children buy them something clasical as The Beatles or follow what kind of music they like, because if you are going to protect them from the media, the best thing is to instruct them about the impact not hiding the truth about how wonderful music is.(PS: Kidz with z, way to dumb!)
