So the X-Mass Spirit is dead or just in a Coma?

Published by glequericac at 5:11 am under Actuality! Edit This

Ok, I’ve been wondering lately where is the Christmas Spirit?, if its dead or is just in a coma?, I guess is just in a coma because many people measure Christmas and other holidays in the quantity of gifts they receive, many people don’t see that the true spirit of the holidays aren’t the gifts but rather how you celebrate it.

I guess when you are little, you don’t realize about the meaning of Christmas or Hanukah, or whatever celebration you observe, you see this time of the year as the time you get free gifts, but when you get older the gift are the things that don’t matter at all, I can go to the mall and wonder for hours without buying something, probably I see a couple of things that I want but I always postpone my acquisitions for later. I don’t see this time of year in a religious way, as for me I’m not religious at all but I see it as a time where you can spend a good time by doing something simple.

I see many people with big shopping bags, I wonder if they really value this time of year, I think… I know this time of year is moved by capitalism as companies try to appeal to peoples feeling, but I don’t complaint that’s part of economy. Where I used to live my landlord she was extremely pessimistic and she loved to see the times when people spend time with their family as a time that is an obligation to buy things so you can gain the affection of the people, you won’t gain the affection of the people by buying things you gain the affection of the people by being nice and gentle.

I think that Christmas is not dead at all, it’s just in a recession as the economy is, but at least is not dead as many of us we value this time of year as the time of year where the simple is the best.
