Heroes (or Villains), past his glory
I know a few weeks ago I wrote an article praising Heroes 3d season, and before I start writing the article I am going to say that I will write in first person as I couldn’t find any other way to say it, and what I will say is just my personal opinion and nothing more, so please don’t take it personal.
Season One, showed Sylar (played by Zachary Quinto ) a villain then turned anti-hero who stole superhuman powers because of a hunger of “knowledge”, many of us we thought it was cool and we liked the character development trough the next seasons, and now in season 3 we are introduced to Arthur “Dallas” Petrelli, Sylar’s biological father (and father of Nathan and Peter) who has a similar ability like his son, but more of extreme version (I compare him to X-Man Rogue) at the begging of the season when he killed the immortal Adam Monroe, I thought it was cool and we could have a reference that many of the younger generations have similar powers as their parents, as season progressed in my opinion I started to get annoyed with Arthur as he is just a pastiche of Sylar but with a suit and a more complex argot.
Arthur started to depower people, even his own son Peter who has a vast range of powers, thus when Peter lost his powers he made his dad a one man army, technically “Dallas” is unstoppable right now with the incredible amount of abilities he has, and with the last episode Villains, we see Arthur attacking fan favorite character Hiro. We have to wait what will happen next week, if only “Dallas” erased Hiro memories or if he will kill him, if the fans see that Hiro is kill or another Hiro from a different timeline appears, fans will stop watching it, as many people see the show just of Masi Oka character, almost everyone knows that Masi Oka is one of the elements that Heroes appealed to many people. But again, we have to wait.
Last episodes was ok, was not the best, but at least it wasn’t a clip show, we could have a back look to one year before the events, but the episode created a loop at least with Sylar and the introduction of Elle, but I am not going to discuss the technical aspects of the story now. One positive point I have to remark, the new intro was cool, I guess I didn’t expect it to see Villains at the end. I beg to the producers and writers to give us the viewers a huge surprise by the end of the volume so we can look forward to volume four next February.
PS: Cristine Rose, great as usual!
