The Pop Culture of Gus Lequerica

Its 1AM of November 5th of 2008, I don’t know if someone beside my three readers read this but I will go on. Today we know that Barack Obama is the new elected President of the United States of America, and we have to applaud it, as the reason is he is the first African American to be the Head of States. There were many factors that let him win, but probably one of those was the discontent of the people with the Republican Administration; we have to face something W. Bush wasn’t the best or smartest President that the United States ever had, and people were unhappy with that aspect, to have a second W. in the office.

Is going to be 1:10 soon, and I been thinking many things, once of them is that I am happy to be in America to be witness of this, I am happy to be here to had experimented the process, but my only problem was that I couldn’t vote, is the price Legal Residents we have to pay, but I know someday in the next four years I will vote and I will be happy, because voting and letting Democracy to be executed, is one privilege many people don’t realize at all.

We know is a new day in history, we know is the moment of change, because after 8 years is a new start (another one) for the country, but is not only a start for one individual, is a new start for everyone, for the people who dream and fight to live with dignity and with love, we have Obama as an inspiration, that even the minorities can achieve whatever they want; I do believe that, that we the people for the people we have the potential to reach the goals we want, and there is no better power that the power made by the people.

Today is a new day for us, a day for changes, a new morning to see with optimist, because even the people who couldn’t vote due different reasons, we believe in the hope that our next President gave to us, a hope that we can fight for it, as we believe that we can do it, as we know we can fight it.
