Youtubers: Lillemy1

Youtubers: Lillemy1

Hilde or Lillemy1 as she is known in youtube is a young Norwegian singer with a sweet but yet powerful, the piece of information you probably won’t know is that Lillemy1 is a self-though singer and songwriter, as many people in youtube I discovered when I was searching for the song May it Be, from Enya and I got hooked instantly, Hilde’s cover is truly beautiful and from that song I started to hear other and the other until I heard every single song of the 29 Hilde’s song.

But it was recently when I got in contact with this talented singer until she upload her version of Ave Maria, which I think is truly beautiful; recently I got the chance to speak with this talented artist who is also competing in the internet competition of Total Pop Star, if you want to vote for Hilde you can click on the link it was mentioned before and it will redirect you to Hilde’s link, if you want to help Hilde’s gain a record deal, vote for her, you can vote as many times you want.

8 QUICK QUESTIONS TO LILLEMY1:

Gus Lequerica: When was the first time you know you wanted to sing?.

Lillemy1: I loved to sing already since I was a child. I sang every day, though not for anybody, but because I loved music and singing.
G.L.: What are your favorite genres? And favorite musicians?

L: I have no favorite genre I guess. I like all genres, and I also love to sing all genres. I never give up on a song I want to sing.
G.L: What is your favorite song?

L: My favorite’s song? That was not easy to answer. I got many favorites. Ave Maria, Motherless child, Angel (Sarah McLachlan) are some of them.
G.L:  Who or what influenced you to become a singer?

L: When I was a little girl I listened to Boney M and Abba. So I guess they were my inspirations to become singer. Youtube and my friends on YouTube inspire me the most today.
G.L:  Of one of your songs that you composed, what is the most meaningful to you?

L: “You made it easy to love you” is my original that is most meaningful to me!
G.L: Who are your favorite Youtube musicians?

L: I got several favorites YouTube musicians. Here are some of them: (YouTube names) DsmB2007 , Airto, Lisalavie1, Gordieiati, kellydoll14, and many more.

G.L: What do you think about YouTube?, and the process it gives to young artist to expose their products?.

L: I think YouTube is a great place for unknown artists to show their talents. YouTube is a great community!
G.L: Besides singing, what are your other passions?

H: My other passions are fishing; nature, decoration painting, movies, and don’t tell anyone I love to play bingo! Lol

We can wish the best to Lilemy1, as she has a bright future above her; and if you want to hear more from her you can click here, and for last here are a few samples of LiLemy1.

Camp Quality

Published by glequericac under Actuality!, Main Edit This

A beautiful organization who brings happiness to children with cancer and their families, is the phrase to describe what this marvelous non-profit organization does in Australia, Camp Quality gives for a week children and their families a moment of sparse and happiness trough different activities such  as horse riding, and when the children arrive to the camp they are assigned to a companion (who are adult volunteers) so the children can have the highest quality care.

The best is that Camp Quality gives the chance to let the children be children again, even for a couple of days, because when you are suffering from a devastating illness as cancer, sometimes happines is something you don’t see or feel everyday and have the chance to smile is something priceless.

If you want to read more information about Camp Quality, you can click here  and you will be redirect to the homepage of Camp Quality, where all your question will be answered.

Broadway, Chesse Mac and Spider Man

Published by glequericac under Actuality!, Main Edit This

I guess with the evolution of humanity, culture (excuse me for the redundancy) evolves as well, one aspect of culture that I find particulary amusing is theater, one of the eldest forms of entertainment that can be traced to the Hellenic cultures and that many people enjoy up to these days. Myself?, yes I love theater is a escape valve for me, but lately there so many plays, or were so many plays due the problematic economy and I guess my hobby of going to see plays had been diminished, even going for a hamburger is something I need to think twice because they are freaking expensive and of what was a night out in the past today is a night in home.

I guess, with all these economical problems even a simple acquisition of a chocolate bar is something that you think twice if you are middle class, unemployed your options are quite limited, I’m not going to offer advice of how to save, because people should adjust their budget to their new found needs, well… I am going to make an exception, check on google the gas prices, sometimes is worth to travel a little more to save a few extra cents. Well thanks for reading my rant.

Youtubers: Tuana Mey - Rock with a Soul (Interview)

With her young age and mysterious looks, Miss Tuana Mey sure has a powerful voice and great stage presence, this young Turkish musician is making her way through the competitive way of the music industry at a steady step with her youtube and myspace where she expose her talent (and we can say for sure than almost a quarter million people had seen this rising star).

Recently I had the chance, to interview Tuana with quick seven questions about what artist admires, her musical tastes and about herself, we discovered a few details about Miss Tuana, and as the closing of this article we only can wish her best in her future career.

When was the first time you started to sing?

- When I was about 9 years old.

Who is your favorite artist? And favorite band?

- I have a few but the main ones are Christina Aguilera, Sarah McLachlan, Kelly Clarkson, Whitney Houston, Evanescence, Natasha Bedingfield, Nelly Furtado, Maria Mena, Justin Timberlake etc.

What is your favorite music genre?

- I`d say it`s Pop and Soft-Rock.

What is your favorite song? And why?

-Oh…uuhhmmm…i always think when i hear a song “this is my favorite song” but if somebody asks me I can`t remember which song that was, hahaha, well I’ve listened to a song on my IPod 300 times, so I’d say it`s “A Day Late” by Anberlin and “Far Away” by NickelbacKk

Who is your favorite youtube singer?

- There a few singers i love listening and watching…Lisa Lavie, Joss Loner, Ben Sharkey, whoisthatgirl7 and Beekay86

Do you write your own music?

- Yes i do, i have a a few on YouTube

What do you think about Youtube, and the process it gives to young artist to expose their products?

- I think it`s a great platform for people with talent, passion and artistic ambitions. It`s so easy to reach people, who have the same taste, the passion and the same dreams…and it also seems like YouTube is THE platform for today`s artists. YouTube is the best that happened to us.

The Godspell According to Perez

Published by glequericac under Main, celebrities Edit This

As a journalist and blogger, I have to say what a shame of individual is Perez Hilton, I guess that theory of masses is correct at some degree, people like to hear about gossip just to feel good about themselves, and after many months I thanks that I could saw the light and get away from that page, but to avoid redundancy, what kind of journalist is Miss Perez?, he is not a journalist because he plagiarize most of of news from other websites (check respectable entertainment websites and compare the dates of the entries, and you will see now Miss Perez post a day late after the news are wrote down), as photos (which he is posting the source lately), plus we can see he lacks of an ethic, because of his childish behavior toward celebrities, for God sake who cares about Miley Cyrus and her bed manners, she is only 15 years, nobody cares, or Sienna Miller (I say Sienna who?) she hasn’t made a movie, a decent movie in ages, but the most creepiest thing of Mario is that he is a 30 year old guy (probably older) and he seems to have an unhealthy obsession with Zac Efron, even photoshopping the head of Zac’s girlfriend and posting him above, I don’t find it funny, it something disturbing almost as a stalker, even people at his blog had expressed their concern.

Thanks to this interesting and yet faithful webpage Perez Revenge we learned a few details about Perez so called super duper bash that was held in New York, recently, if you click on the webpage you can check the details, but to give a small synopsis, it sucked big time and it was really expensive, people were complaining about certain details, other point we have to mention before closing, is that no journalist or blogger (since they are virtual journalist) can’t mock , execute pressure on people or speculate because is a crime, i.e.  when Perez starts saying to the closet celebrities to come out of the closet, or speculating someone is gay, is wrong, the job of a newscaster is to give news not create them on base of speculations and gossip, but I guess Mario Lavandeira forgot, probably how awful was when he declared himself, and that can explains his lack of sensitivity.

I know I am going to be flammed by this post, but I don’t care really words can’t hurt as a bullet, but it was something it was need to be say, because in the name of journalist and blogger who we are trying to do something honest, we don’t want to be associated with this quaker.

Youtubers: Aleutube (Alex Serra)

This Barcelonan, has one of the smoothest voices on the entire youtube page, his stile is quite romantic and jazzy, and is a blast to see and hear, when he plays his guitar there is a passion that let anyone bedazzled. Unfortunately there is not much information on the net about the talented Alex, but if you click here you will be redirected to his youtube account.

Je T’aime Cartagena de Indias

Published by glequericac under Actuality! Edit This

I know I speak mostly about entertaiment, but probably this will be one of those few article that I will speak about me(just a little), as many foreigners in a new land, I keep thinking what I left behind?, what I left behind in my city?, what I think as an aswer, is that I didn’t left behind nothing except a few friends, and a cicle that I was feeling trap because I couldn’t grew as a person. I know is an extremestic approach, but I don’t regret being far away, as I could grew as a person, and I feel happy with my life now.

But… maybe, what I left behind, was the culture that was hidden between the great walls… a culture that is dying and a few people are trying to save, maybe I was a coward to run away and do nothing, because the city and many of their inhabitants need to be educated about the heritage they have, but it seems many people ignore it. It’s  sad to see how a city with a great potential is wasted, just because a few individuals try to get rich by any mean, and a population likes the Status Quo (even if a new generation is trying to break the vicious circle of corruption).

I remember with some melancholy my few good memories, I try to remember those few happy afternoons in November when college ended and I went to Juan Valdez for a mug of coffee with one of my good, I try to remember all those poems I made while the sea chanted to me, I try to remember all the good things to not remember the awful ones, because at the end como te amo Cartagena.

Estate of Panic

What could happen if Fear Factor, instead of been outdoor, was in indoors?, the answer of this question is the new Sci-Fi show hosted by magician Steve Valentine, Estate of Panic.

The premise of the show is simple, 7 contestants go into a mansion where they have to complete puzzles trough different rooms, with every room, two contestants are eliminated, one by the room and the other by Steve, the elimination criteria consists that the host will see which one of the contestant was the weakest link during the challenge as well one of the contestants will loose the puzzle due their greed.

The puzzles are quite hard, and there are many obstacles (hence the name Estate of Panic) as snakes, bugs, moving walls and many other more, is like been on a haunted mansion where all your nightmares can come true. At the end when 6 players are eliminated, there is the solo challenge and the opportunity to win the grand price, that is all the money collected by previous players, but as many games, if you loose you get nothing at the end.

The show is fun, even with the premier episode I give it a 10, because of it’s freshness and the charm of Steve Valentine toward the contestants.

Wii Points or Roms?

So lately there is a new, or not so new trend among gamers, and that is downloading games directly to their consoles, it can be on almost any home console these days, in my case I will talk about the Nintendo Wii and is download system, the Wii Shop Channel.

The Wii Shop Channel, is an exclusive internet channel for the Wii, that offers content made by Nintendo as well old games, games that you can find as roms over the net, but my question is, due these games that cost US$10.00 each or more are worth of getting them?, my answer is a yes and a no, an odd answer.

Why yes?, why download content from the Wii Channel?, because if you are fan of Nintendo you will find cool things, as Nintendo 64 games (that runs way better in the Wii instead of a computer), and Mega Man 9 ,but at the same time  my answer is no, as Nintendo is offering high prices for NES games as well other console games that you can find perfectly trough the internet. So at the end if you want to download anything from the Wii Shop Channel my final answer is no, there are a few things worth it.

I downloaded recently Mega Man 9 and Ocarina of Time, I spent US$20.00 for both games, since each game cost US$10 on the channel, and US$10 are the equivalent of 1.000 points, you can do the maths. I do not regret of downloading both games, as the reason is both games are cool, but the Wii Shop Channel needs to grow more, as there is not many products still to offer, sure it will be cool to see more games of Nintendo 64, and to download games that weren’t available in America ten years ago, but I know Nintendo will improve their channel, and it will be fantastic.

Youtubers: Eline a.k.a. justmii2u’s

This young talented youtuber known as justmii2u (or Eline) is one of the most fascinating singers of that webpage, is true that her passion is sing, because if you hear some of her videos, you will feel the joy justmii2u feels when she performs.

Her primordial musical genre is Pop, but clearly she moves between other genres as Ballads and some light rock as well; she has a great cover of Enya song You Raise Me up, as many youtube artist Eline also sang a few duets with other fellow musician such as Ben Sharkey, both make a cool rendition of Nancy and Frank Sinatra song Something Stupid, probably the most interesting thing of the video is that Ben is in Michigan and Eline is in the Netherlands, but the quality of the sound sounds like if both performers where on the same studio.

Recently I got the chance to interview justmii2u, and we learn a few quick interesting details about this talented performer, such as her favorite songs and when she started to sing.

When did I start to sing?
I don’t remember when I actually STARTED singing but I do know I’ve been singing for a long time.. I started to take singing lessons when I was 13.

Who is your favorite artist? And favorite band?
My favorite artists are: Josh Groban, Il Divo, and Celine Dion.

What is your favorite music genre?
I like a lot of music genres but I think my favorite is pop classical crossover.

What is your favorite song? And why?
My favorite song… Hard one… I think that must be ‘You raise me up’. It just never gets boring… How often I listen to it.
Who is your favorite YouTube singer?

Favorite YouTube singer: Waaah too many to name.. Can I name 4? Passionsf, Bensharkey, Frannobaz and Popsensation87 (Zak Resnick)

Do you write your own music?
Do I write my own music: I kinda do.. Northern star.. on youtube.. I wrote the lyrics.. I wanna know.. on youtube.. I wrote the lyrics for the bridge.. Go to www.myspace.com/ElineNeelis if u wanna hear the original songs.. They’re also on youtube but on myspace you have all 4 of them together..

What do you think about YouTube, and the process it gives to young artist to expose their products?
I think YouTube is great for people that want to expose their talent, stuff etc.. I’m not sure if it’s that effective in the end.. (Sure.. for some people)

After Harry comes Twilight

Probably this is only just a quick analysis to the new movie called Twilight, which I see as a kids version of Interview with the Vampire, I guess my generation was marked at some degree with Anne Rice’s book about the books of Lestat, but I know there are some people who find enjoyable this new vampire franchise. I don’t see anything new of Twilight, the truth I don’t see the same impact that Harry Potter caused due the high volume in sales (although I don’t see originality in both products, Harry is just a quick lecture book even if its similar as a telephone directory, and Twilight, I don’t see anything new to genre except the lousy re imagination of the vampires which elements of Twilight can be traced in Anne Rice books such as vampires walking in the daylight, but not all vampires could do that) and it was a incentive to educate a young generation about the benefits of the lecture.

OK… one aspect that probably is the key factor of the new Twilight movies, is British actor Robert Pattinson (who audience met on Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, as the heartthrob magician Cedric Diggory) who became popular after his role in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, and I can bet not all people know that Robert is a newcomer in the acting world, he started his professional career in the year 2004 with a cameo in the 2004 adaptation of the book Vanity Fair, before that he was only a model. Recently many web pages as Perez Hilton report that girls (and boys) are crowding the malls where the Twilight tour goes just to see Robert, and some people even say that they are going to see the movie not because of the interesting plot, just to see Robert.

After Harry comes  Twilight, and many young (and old) viewers are in a frenzy to see the next big flick of the year, myself… well, let’s say I will go to, just to see what all these fuzz is about, because after half reading the first book, I guess I won’t expect too much about Twilight.
